Western Express
Renovations and reconstruction of the main office, recruitment center, truck maintenance shop, and truck body shop due to storm damage. Project added new employee amenities such as a kitchen and fitness facilities. The schedule was coordinated with the customer to prioritize critical facilities and bring the facility back on-line as quickly as possible.

Sunrise Medical
$1 Million fit-up of a 134,000 square foot warehouse for the wheelchair assembly plant for Sunrise Medical. Fit-up included new office spaces, relocation of existing equipment within the shell building, and power drops for future process equipment.

Dollar General Distribution Facilities
Walker Electric has worked with Dollar General and Gray to complete massive distribution centers in several states. The latest project in Indiana consisted of a 1,184,600 sq. ft. distribution center, 9,100 sq. ft. office, a 12,900 sq. ft. maintenance facility, and a small guardhouse. A conventional steel building was divided into four areas with automated conveyor systems, multi-level pick modules, and a building area that accommodates rack storage and fork truck aisles. Walker Electric provided electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and lightning protection.

Academy Sports and Outdoors Distribution Facility
This design/build project was a 1,250,000 square-foot distribution facility for Academy Sports and Outdoors. Distribution facilities included offices, training rooms computer room, dock facilities, battery charging capabilities and power for conveying systems. Our responsibilities included the design and construction of the electrical systems including power; lighting; emergency systems; grounding systems; fire alarm and paging systems rough-in; and the telecommunication systems rough-in. The facility achieved received LEED Silver certification and was the largest LEED Silver facility in the state of Georgia at the time it was completed.
